Creative Embodiments Ethos

**1. Integrity and Compassion**

   - **Respect and Empathy**: I commit to treating all individuals with respect, kindness, and empathy. I honor each person’s unique experiences, identities, and needs, ensuring a compassionate and supportive environment.

**2. Personal Responsibility**

   - **Self-Awareness**: I regularly engage in self-reflection and interoceptive practices to remain grounded and aware of my own emotional and physical states. This ensures that my facilitation comes from a place of embodied presence and not personal reactivity.

   - **Accountability**: I take responsibility for my actions and their impact. I welcome feedback and will address any harm caused by adjusting my practices and making necessary repairs.

**3. Scope of Practice**

   - **Trauma-Informed Facilitation**: I offer support through somatic dance, restorative yoga, and creative expression. I do not provide clinical therapy, psychological counseling, or medical diagnoses. If a participant’s needs exceed my scope, I will refer them to appropriate professionals.

   - **Non-Invasive Practice**: I respect physical and emotional boundaries, using hands-off approaches and creating a space where participants can explore at their own comfort level.

**4. Intersectionality**

   - **Inclusive Practices**: I recognize and honor the intersecting identities and experiences of all participants. I strive to create an inclusive space that acknowledges and supports diverse backgrounds and perspectives.

   - **Cultural Sensitivity**: I am committed to understanding and respecting the cultural contexts of the practices I offer. This includes being mindful of the historical and cultural significance of practices and acknowledging the impacts of colonization.

**5. Respect for Marginalized and Colonized Communities**

   - **Ethical Engagement**: I approach practices with an awareness of historical and ongoing injustices, including the impacts of colonization and the exploitation of cultural practices. I am committed to offering practices with integrity and sensitivity to these issues.

   - **Advocacy and Awareness**: I use my platform to raise awareness about the impacts of oppressive systems and advocate for social justice, ensuring that marginalized voices are honored and supported.

**6. Reflexivity**

   - **Continuous Reflection**: I engage in ongoing self-reflection to examine how my own identities and experiences influence my facilitation. I remain open to learning and adapting my approach based on this self-awareness and participant feedback.

  7. - **Respect for Māori Culture**: I honor and respect Māori cultural practices, acknowledging their significance and ensuring that any integration of Māori elements is done with appropriate consultation and respect. I will engage with Māori communities and leaders to inform my practices where relevant.

   - **Cultural Safety**: I am committed to creating an environment that respects and supports Māori perspectives and practices, and I work to ensure that my facilitation supports Māori participants in a culturally safe manner.

**8.Ongoing Education**

   - **Commitment to Learning**: I am dedicated to ongoing education and professional development to ensure that I stay informed about the latest advancements and best practices in trauma-informed facilitation. This commitment allows me to provide the most up-to-date and effective support for participants.

**9. Values and Ethics**

   - **Self-Agency**: I empower participants to make their own choices and respect their autonomy in all aspects of the facilitation process.

   - **Compassion and Inclusivity**: I uphold values of compassion, inclusivity, and diversity, creating a supportive environment for all individuals.

*10.Accessibility and Disability Inclusion**

   - **Physical and Mental Disabilities**: I am committed to ensuring that my practices are accessible to individuals with physical and mental disabilities. I strive to provide adaptations and accommodations to meet diverse needs, ensuring that all participants can engage in a way that supports their well-being.

   - **Respectful Engagement**: I approach disability with respect and sensitivity, avoiding assumptions and being open to dialogue about specific needs and preferences. I work to create an environment that is inclusive and supportive of all abilities.

Code of ethics as a participant or client of Creative Embodiment:

As a participant or client of Creative Embodiment, we invite you to embrace the following principles to foster a supportive and braver space for yourself and others. These guidelines are designed to help you engage with our offerings with integrity, self-respect, and mutual care:

1. **Self-Agency**

   - You are encouraged to take full ownership of your body and experiences during sessions. Participate in a way that feels authentic and respectful of your boundaries.

   - Feel free to opt out or modify any practice, exercise, or movement that doesn’t feel right for you. Your body, your choice.

2. **Compassionate Engagement**

   - Approach yourself and others with kindness and non-judgment. Remember that everyone is on their own journey, and practice empathy towards yourself and fellow participants.

   - Respect the vulnerability that may arise for others, especially in trauma-sensitive environments.

3. **Personal Responsibility**

   - Take responsibility for your well-being by communicating your needs and limits clearly, both physically and emotionally.

   - If you have any injuries or conditions, inform the facilitator beforehand, and prioritize your safety and comfort.

4. **Respectful Boundaries**

   - Honor your own and others’ personal space. Creative Embodiment promotes a hands-off approach unless consent has been explicitly given.

   - Please respect any emotional boundaries set by others. Participation is invitational, and no one should feel pressured to share more than they’re comfortable with.

5. **Inclusivity and Respect for Diversity**

   - Embrace and respect the diversity of experiences, abilities, cultures, and backgrounds present in the space.

   - Be mindful of how your words and actions impact others, and avoid making assumptions or generalizations about anyone’s experience.

6. **Confidentiality**

   - What is shared in our sessions stays within the session. Protect the privacy of others by not disclosing personal stories or experiences outside of the space.

   - While sharing your own insights is welcome, always seek consent before sharing anything that involves someone else’s story.

7. **Commitment to Ongoing Learning**

   - Be open to growth and learning as you engage with new practices and insights. Trust the process and remain curious about your own experience.

   - Acknowledge that there may be discomfort in the learning process, but also the opportunity for deep healing and transformation.

8. **Supportive Communication**

   - Use clear, respectful, and open communication when engaging with facilitators and other participants. If something doesn’t sit well with you, feel encouraged to voice it in a constructive manner.

   - Avoid gossip, unkind comments, or any communication that could foster division or negativity. If you ever feel dissatisfied or have a concern with the service provided, come directly to the facilitator to discuss it respectfully. Publicly shaming on social media or other platforms is not aligned with the values of this space, and direct communication is encouraged for mutual resolution.

9. **Responsiveness to Feedback**

   - We encourage a growth mindset—if you receive feedback, be open to reflecting on it and making adjustments to ensure that you and others feel safe and supported.

   - Similarly, feel free to provide feedback to facilitators or the space in a respectful and constructive way. Approaching the facilitator directly fosters a culture of transparency and respect.

10. **Mindfulness and Presence**

   - Be present and mindful during sessions. Avoid distractions (such as phones) and come to the space ready to engage with the practices.

   - Allow yourself to pause, breathe, and reconnect with your body as needed.

This Code of Ethics is an invitation to co-create an environment of mutual care, respect, and personal empowerment. Together, we can build a compassionate and empowering space for healing, creativity, and self-expression. If concerns or issues arise, let’s handle them with mutual respect and private, direct communication.
