What is Integrative Somatics?
Integrative Somatics is a body-based (or bottom-up) approach to healing and self-awareness. Unlike talk therapy—which works from the top-down through thoughts and language, this work begins with the body and the nervous system, using tools like breath, movement, and interoception (the ability to sense internal sensations) to gently reconnect you with your felt sense.
Sessions are slow, titrated, and designed to avoid overwhelm or emotional flooding. We work with the body’s natural pace, helping you build capacity to feel emotions, sensations, and survival responses that may have once felt too big or unsafe. Over time, this allows for the completion of stored stress cycles and supports long-term regulation and resilience.
Integrative Somatics is ideal as a complement to talk therapy for those who want more tools in their healing toolbox, and it's also deeply supportive for people who feel they’ve tried everything, but are being led back to the body and nervous system as the missing link in their mental, emotional, and physical well-being.
What to Expect:
1. Registration
Begin by filling out the registration form to help me understand your goals, history and needs. From there, we can arrange a date and time that suits us both for the initial consultation—either in person or online. Or I will refer you to someone else if I feel something else might better suit your goals and needs at this time.
2. Initial Consultation: 1–2 hours (£100)
We'll start with a conversation and some knowledge around how the nervous system, brain, and stress response function works (for some this might be a refresher or different perspective if you feel knowledgeable in this area already). This helps us understand—or revisit—how these systems relate to your personal experiences.
Next, we’ll explore nervous system resourcing tools to discover what feels supportive and aligned with your unique needs. This helps build your capacity to stay present with emotions and sensations. I refer to this foundational work as Base Camp. This is the most important step, as healing takes place when the nervous system feels resourced and begins to feel safer to feel and move through challenges from a more responsive place rather than reactive.
A Vagal Flow head massage or Reiki can be added on to your session for a further $40.
3. Follow-Up Session: 1 hour (£50)
You can choose to book your second session whenever you feel ready—there’s no set timeframe.
In this session, we’ll discuss how the tools have been integrating for you, explore any changes that may be occurring, and decide whether new or additional tools might be supportive.
Depending on where you're at, we may go deeper into somatic work through movement, titrated feeling, or shaking medicine. Alternatively, if you feel it would be more beneficial at that time, the session can be focused on energy healing (Reiki) or a Vagal Flow head massage.
4. Ongoing Support
There may be multiple follow-up sessions similar to the second. The aim is to empower you to use these tools on your own so that ongoing sessions are optional rather than necessary.
For some, one session may be enough; for others, it might be eight or more, spread over a year or two—whatever supports your journey best.
Whether you’re seeking stress relief, emotional grounding, creative exploration, physical relaxation, better sleep or trauma healing. I’m here to hold a compassionate and supportive space for your journey.
