Lauren Albans
(Founder & Director of Creative Embodiment)

Originally from England, Lauren moved to Aotearoa in 2013 to pursue a life with her partner who was born and raised in Hawkes Bay. The challenges that came with this life changing move, set Lauren on a deep healing journey that continues to this day. Moving country presented a difficult yet profound opportunity to look at unhealthy patterns and beliefs, undoing a lifetime of social conditioning and limiting beliefs, that ultimately leads her back to a deeper understanding and remembering of her most authentic self.
Lauren trained under Amanda Hanna (SomaPsych) in over 350 hours of trauma informed facilitation, encompassing therapeutic movement modalities, embodiment practices, Yin & restorative yoga facilitation, somatic tools for nervous system support, social Justice and Systemic change. Lauren has also completed 200hours of Sarsha Hopes Somatic dance and soundscape facilitation training along with being qualified in Laughter yoga, Sound healing, reik, Cacao facilitating, Myofascial release massage and Shaking medicine facilitation.
Lauren now offers customised stress management and burnout prevention programs and retreats publicly and privately in person and online, as well as working 1-1 with clients in supportive somatic practices.

Lauren creatively weaves in the power of contemplation through her passion and lived experience of compassionate self enquiry through journaling, poetry and vision boards.

She went on to found 'Journeyin' in 2021 before evolving into 'Creative Embodiment', a platform where she could bring all her offerings to the local community and across Aotearoa and the U.K. Her passion lies in creatively weaving these embodied modalities to create joyful, fun, supportive spaces, foster community connections, and invite opportunities for individuals to support their nervous systems through evidence based resourcing techniques and creative self expression.

"My hope is to provide participants with opportunities to delve into a self-empowered realm of curiosity, where you can observe, recognize, and navigate your own boundaries of comfort. Inviting opportunities to listen to your body as and when you can, to explore at your own pace to foster inner resilience, self-compassion, and patience for your body, mind, and soul.
I am not here to fix, heal, diagnose or elicit emotional responses. Having a trauma and mental health aware lens enables me to better navigate support for others and stay within my scope of practice. My intention is to create brave, light hearted environments where individuals can connect with their inner landscapes to support their nervous system in their own unique time and way, however that unfolds for them. It is humbling and inspiring to witness others stepping into their power, whilst always growing and learning alongside community"
